Site Remediation Program NFR Letter Registry
Illinois EPA registry of Site Remediation Program No Further Remediation letters, aggregated to one row per site and joined to site location data, with engineered-barrier and institutional-control indicators.
Questions this answers
4 · best fit firstIllinois EPA's standing SRP/NFR product identifies parcel-reachable SRP sites by IEPA and optional USEPA identifiers, site name, address, and coordinates, and reports the count and earliest/latest dates of NFR letters aggregated for each site. This establishes bounded official NFR-determination history and site identity, not a complete remediation-case chronology or a distinct case number.
For an identified SRP site, the site-aggregated product reports issuance of one or more NFR determinations, NfrLetterCount, EarliestNfrLetterDate, LatestNfrLetterDate, the latest determination's comprehensive/focused scope and land-use value, and the raw ActiveSite indicator. These provide official completion-determination, dated-milestone, and raw activity-status evidence. Preserve site-aggregate grain and raw values; an NFR does not prove current absence of contamination or remedy effectiveness, ActiveSite has no status-effective date, and the Source does not supply contaminants, affected media, or a complete phase chronology.
The site-aggregated NFR product reports whether any NFR letter identifies an engineered barrier and distinguishes asphalt, concrete, building slab, three- or ten-foot clean soil, alternate, and other barrier types. This directly supplies officially recorded engineering-control presence and type. The earliest/latest NFR dates bound the site's determination history but cannot be assigned as a control-specific implementation or effective date when several letters exist; the product does not establish present operation, lifted status, or termination date.
The site-aggregated NFR product reports whether any NFR letter identifies an institutional control and distinguishes industrial/commercial restriction, groundwater-use restriction, ordinance, worker caution, slab-on-grade, highway-authority agreement, BCT, ELUC groundwater-use restriction, and other control indicators. LatestLandUse is specifically taken from the latest NFR letter and can be read with LatestNfrLetterDate. This supplies official remediation-related restriction/control presence and type, but not land-record instrument identity, title enforceability, continuing current status, lift, or termination dates; the other any-letter indicators cannot be tied to a particular letter date after aggregation.
