Environmental release indicator
Whether a location is associated with a reported hazardous-substance, petroleum, wastewater, or other environmental release incident.

6 sourcesStatewide registry extract of facilities with at least one aboveground storage tank, including active and inactive registrations, site identity, address, coordinates, and tank-status indicators.
Statewide registry extract of facilities with at least one underground storage tank, including active and inactive registrations, site identity, address, coordinates, contacts, and tank-status indicators.
Public Hawaii Hazard Evaluation and Emergency Response incident records for hazardous-substance releases. The API exposes incident identity, reported and release timing, location, impact, response, status, and nested public location details; the agency warns that the public view excludes ongoing incidents and some incidents without coordinates.
Florida DEP STCM "Leaking Aboveground Storage Tank Site Locations" report — the authoritative, purpose-built dataset for facilities with an aboveground tank and a recorded discharge. Fetched per-county across all 67 counties (POST cid+query_cid, same session-cookie pattern as the sibling fl_dep__regulated_ast/fl_dep__regulated_ust reports) and aggregated from 6,518 tank-substance-component rows to 1,473 distinct facilities by FAC_ID. Latitude/Longitude are published directly on the report in unsigned DMS format and converted to decimal degrees by fetch.py (no ArcGIS join needed). FDEP's own PLACEMENT column splits every facility into "AST Only" or "AST UST" (also has an underground tank) since STCM cannot attribute a discharge to a specific tank — both values qualify for ds_LAST=true. Single-attribute source: LAST.
Confirmed tank release incidents since 1989, collapsed to incident grain and scoped to incidents referencing underground tanks.
EPA UST Finder ArcGIS FeatureServer, two layers: Facilities (layer 0, UST_FINDER/Integration 299) and Releases (layer 1, UST_FINDER_RELEASE/Integration 300). Static 2018-2021 EPA snapshot, intentionally distinct from the ~19 existing Verified per-state UST/LUST sources — nationwide baseline for states without an individual per-state Source. Deduped on full-row content per layer (not the declared PK alone) after investigating shared-key groups: Facilities dropped 8 true duplicates of 108 shared Facility_ID pairs (100 genuinely distinct facilities kept); Releases dropped 146 true duplicates of 466 shared (Facility_ID, LUST_ID) groups (370 genuinely distinct events kept). Tank-level USTs layer (2.3M rows, no own address/coords) and the two *_by_County polygon-aggregate layers deliberately out of scope — no clean Attribute mapping.
