What Virginia Department of Environmental Qu… offers
12 sourcesVirginia landfill inventory comprising the sanitary, industrial, construction/demolition/debris, and inert landfill subset of VA DEQ's Solid Waste Permits ArcGIS layer. It covers permitted landfill units and includes active, inactive, closed, and post-closure records with permit, facility, status, waste, capacity-limit, and location attributes.
VA DEQ EDMA ArcGIS layer 104, "Petroleum Releases (Daily)" — one row per release case (combined UST+AST), keyed on composite (RST_ID, PCNUM). Full historical archive since program inception (98.4% Closed cases). Distinct from the sibling va_deq registration sources (registered_ust_facilities/registered_ast_facilities are tank registrations, not releases) and from the general spill dataset (va_deq__prep_pollution_reports).
VA DEQ EDMA ArcGIS layer 102, "Registered Petroleum Tank Facilities (Daily)", full unfiltered registry. One row per facility, keyed on FAC_ID (verified zero duplicates across all 25,596 rows). OVERLAP NOTE: this is the same parent layer the Verified va_deq__registered_ust_facilities (FAC_ACTIVE_UST>0) and va_deq__registered_ast_facilities (FAC_ACTIVE_AST>0) sources draw filtered subsets from — this Source is deliberately scoped to ds_TANKS only (no ds_AST/ds_UST), linked only to Integration 293. Do NOT treat this as the authoritative AST/UST source — those remain the two Verified sibling Sources, untouched by this scaffold.
VA DEQ EDMA 'Registered Petroleum Tank Facilities' MapServer layer 102 (the combined aboveground/underground petroleum tank registry, 25,579 facilities), filtered to VA's regulated AST facilities via FAC_ACTIVE_AST>0 AND FAC_RISK_RANK populated — 664 facilities. This matches DEQ's published 'more than 600 AST facilities' (the risk-ranked, actively-inspected set; 99.8% carry an inspection year). Facility grain; native WGS84 Lat/Lon. Single-attribute source (ds_AST always true).
Statewide listing of Virginia DEQ air-permitted facilities (Title V Major, Synthetic Minor, True Minor, and Area (HAP) permit classifications) from the EDMA MapServer's Active Air Sites (Daily) layer (Layer 294), unfiltered. 3,723 facilities as of the 2026-07-30 fetch, with street address and WGS84 point geometry for nearly every record.
VA DEQ's Registered Petroleum Tank Facilities EDMA layer, filtered to FAC_ACTIVE_UST>0 AND FAC_RISK_RANK IS NOT NULL (5,630 facility rows) — mirrors the filter used by the Verified sibling va_deq__registered_ast_facilities exactly. Facility grain, not tank grain: this Integration's prediction (17,500±25%) was tank-scoped, but VA DEQ publishes no public tank-level feed. Sum of FAC_ACTIVE_UST across all facilities (17,659) confirms this is the correct dataset despite the facility/tank granularity mismatch.
Virginia DEQ active air permit sites filtered to NAICS code 812320 (drycleaning and laundry services, except coin-operated). Sourced from the EDMA ArcGIS MapServer layer 294, which covers all active permitted air facilities in Virginia. The DRYCLEANERS boolean identifies facilities with a NAICS code of 812320.
Virginia DEQ Pollution Response Program (PREP) incident reports — oil/hazmat spills, sewage discharges, fish kills, open burning, etc. State-native source matching the Chubb PREP description (provider va_deq, no divergence). VA DEQ Environmental Data Hub public ArcGIS layer 'PReP Reports' (apps.deq.virginia.gov/arcgis/.../public/EDMA/MapServer/175). 31,379 point records (within predicted 25000 ±55% = 11250-38750). Single-attribute (SPILLS). Strong fill on BOTH address and coordinates: ds_street 96.7% (PRP_SITE_ADDRESS1), ds_city 97.4%, ds_state 100% (PRP_SITE_STATE, ~99.99% VA), ds_zip 75.2%, ds_lat/lon 100% (point geometry) -> Fit.
Virginia DEQ Voluntary Remediation Program (VRP) Site Addresses — layer 99 of the public EDMA MapServer (gisdata.deq.virginia.gov). Virginia administers brownfield redevelopment through the VRP, and this is the authoritative enrolled-site inventory the DEQ Brownfields Development Resource Tool draws on. 1,789 sites statewide, each with site name, VRP number, program status, street/city/zip, and a WGS84 point coordinate. conform.py maps ds_ address from street1/city/zip with ds_state constant "VA" and ds_lat/lon from the geometry — ds_street 94.5%, ds_lat/lon 99.9% (Fit on both).
VA RCRA Corrective Action sites — Virginia's Hazardous Waste Cleanup Program (HWCP) universe, the state-led hazardous-waste cleanup records (state-equivalent-of-CERCLIS) the HWS attribute calls for. Sourced from VA DEQ's GeoHub-published 'EPA Region 3 RCRA Corrective Action (CA)' hosted feature service (services.arcgis.com/cJ9YHowT8TU7DUyn, Region3_RCRA_CA_Joined layer 0 / points), filtered server-side to STATE='VA' (123 of 585 Region 3 sites). Each row carries site name, EPA/handler id, street address, ZIP, RCRA corrective-action milestone codes, and WGS84 coordinates. conform.py maps address from ADDRESS/CITY/STATE/ZIPCODE and ds_lat/lon from LATITUDE/LONGITUDE — ds_street 100% and ds_lat/lon 100% (Fit on both).
Engineering-control site list compiled from DEQ VRP and UECA records-request exports, identifying sites with an engineered remedy.
VRP site list compiled from a DEQ records-request export, identifying sites with recorded deed, land-use, or groundwater-use restrictions.
