Flood extent class
The observed, reported, measured, or estimated flood extent class for an event, on the basis and date stated by the source.
Sources that carry it
4 sourcesContinuous near-real-time global monitoring product that processes incoming Sentinel-1 IW GRD SAR scenes with three flood-mapping algorithms and an ensemble rule. It publishes 20 m Observed Flood Extent and Observed Water Extent rasters, scene footprint/metadata, and related quality layers. Flood extent is a model-assisted satellite classification: class 1 is flood, class 0 is no flood, and 255 is no data; normally-water pixels are removed using the monthly reference-water mask. REST, WMS-T, STAC, map viewers, portal downloads, raster/vector downloads, and archive ordering are delivery modes of this one product.
Global commercial flood-event data product combining SAR observations, auxiliary data, algorithms, and machine learning. It publishes frequently updated event extent and post-peak maximum flood extent and depth at building level. Customers can browse and download deliverables in the ICEYE Solutions Suite Event Intelligence Hub, query deliverables through the ISS API, or receive the same product through partner integrations. This is observed/model-assisted event data, not a probabilistic hazard map.
Commercial standing event-response catalogue of selected major flood footprints. JBA monitors global conditions and publishes event commentary, reports, and footprints; documented footprint files are available through its Client Portal or by request to its event-response address. The Storm Henk example contains modelled event extent and depth derived from JBA hazard maps, so this Source must not be described as direct satellite-observed inundation.
Commercial standing flood forecasting and monitoring platform for buyer-specified property points and wider polygons. It continuously reruns hydrodynamic models, displays forecast time and depth in a dashboard, issues alerts, and exposes continuously updated point, polygon, and mapping feeds through an API for integration into customer risk-management systems. Optional connected sensors add observed local water-level telemetry; modelled forecasts and sensor readings must not be conflated.
