Catastrophe industry loss impact
How large is the industry-wide insured impact of this catastrophe?
The data that answers it
Ranked by fit · best firstFor a PERILS-designated qualifying catastrophe, the annual-subscription Industry Exposure & Loss Database supplies industry insured-property loss estimates keyed by PERILS event identity, name, start/end dates, and prevailing peril. Subscribers receive country and CRESTA-zone loss detail and, where available, occupancy, line-of-business, and coverage detail; estimates are issued and revised on a documented reporting schedule. Loss report date, report number, and report status pin the answer to its issuance and version. The values are market estimates on PERILS' stated valuation basis, not a gross/net contractual loss measure, and geographic coverage is limited to CORE territories/perils plus EXTENDED worldwide excluding the United States.
For a licensed transaction, PERILS supplies a monetary industry insured-loss index derived from its industry-level catastrophe loss data and weighted by CRESTA zone, country, and/or insurance line. The first report is issued six weeks after the event, with updates after three, six, and twelve months and later reports when necessary, closing by 36 months; the transaction term sheet pins territorial scope, line of business, risk period, and reporting currency. Report date, number, and status pin successive issuances. This is strong evidence of industry insured impact for the licensed scope, but it is not an unweighted universal event total.
